Introduction

In order to carry out some of the research tasks of Allameh Tabataba’i University and also to help fulfill the research needs of the country in the field of economics and related sciences, pursuant to paragraph 18 of the resolution dated June 14, 2016 of the University Board of Trustees and the resolution adopted at the meeting dated May 14, 2016 of the Development of Higher Education Council, the “Economic Research Institute” affiliated to Allameh Tabataba’i University was established and administered according to the provisions of this statute and relevant rules and regulations.


Targets:

  1. Development and expansion of basic, applied, and developmental research in economics and related interdisciplinary sciences.
  2. Creating a suitable atmosphere for promoting the research activities of the faculty members of the university in the field of economic sciences and find relevance or applications industries and society.
  3. Coallaboration research with domestic and foreign educational and research institutes to enhance the quality of research activities.
  4. Help strengthen the effective link between education and economic research.
  5. Culture-building in the field of economic studies and research of the country.
  6. Help to put problem solving of national economy and firms in the agenda of applied research.



Duties:

  1. Laying the groundwork and creating the necessary material and spiritual grounds for the expansion of research activities of faculty members.
  2. Formation of research nuclei and working groups and think tanks in theoretical, fundamental, developmental ,and operational areas with the focus on faculty members of the Faculty of Economics and the Research Institute.
  3. Creating interdisciplinary research groups focusing on economics and related sciences.
  4. Conducting research projects in various economic fields concentrating on national and interdisciplinary projects.
  5. Carrying out international scientific cooperation with credible foreign research and scientific centers.
  6. Performing scientific and technical consulting services.
  7. Holding basic, applied, interdisciplinary seminars and relevant training workshops within masters and doctoral programs in economics.
  8. Create research databases in various economic fields and their recording, maintenance and, commercialization.
  9. Orienting the scientific activities of the faculty members in the research and macro programs of the university and national development.
  10. Building the necessary facilities for the implementation of approved research projects.
  11. Establishing and active and constructive communication with other domestic and foreign scientific and research institutes and societies through holding conferences, scientific gatherings, exchanging researchers or performing joint research projects to achieve more new sciences and technologies in the fields related to the goals and policies of the university.
  12. Holding short-term educational-research courses in the field of economics and its applications.
  13. Holding scientific meetings, lectures, conferences ,and research workshops.
  14. Production and publication of economic works, including scientific books and publications and economic software.
